Fred Jacob Daniels, 75, of Neillsville, died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield at 8:00 p.m. Monday June 21, 1948. Mr. Daniels was the father of Maurice Daniels, who died in France during the war and was brought home for burial in Neillsville May 28, 1948.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 25, at the Georgas Funeral Home, with the Rev. L. J. Chapman officiating. Place of burial will be the Neillsville City Cemetery.
Fred Daniels was born in Kenosha County, Wisconsin, July 20, 1872. He received his education in Kenosha County until he was twelve, when his family moved to a farm in Maurice, Iowa. He lived there until 1910, when he moved to Sheboygan Falls and was employed in factory work. In 1911 he married Miss Grace Pool of Sheboygan Falls, and four years later he and his family came to Clark County, where they settled on a farm in the Town of Grant where they lived for 28 years. In 1945 they moved to Neillsville.
Mr. Daniels is survived by his wife, Grace; and by five children: Mrs. Fred (Christine) Elmhorst of Granton; Mrs. Henry (Dorothy) Elmhorst of Neillsville; Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Canfield of Granton; S/Sgt. Frederick, U. S. A. Air Corps; Mrs. Robert (Marie) Ratsch of Neillsville, and by 18 grandchildren. One sister, Miss Harriet B. Daniels, of Sioux City, Iowa, also survives him. One brother and 7 sisters had preceded Mr. Daniels in death.
