She is the daughter of Roger V. Sloan and Jennifer Markwell Johnson, both of Morehead, Kentucky.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two brothers, Jeremy V. Sloan and Dylan W. Johnson; paternal grandmother, Violet Adkins Sloan, wife of the late Billy R. Sloan; maternal grandparents, James Perry Markwell and Alfetta Thomas Markwell; her fiancee, Brandon Howard, all of Morehead, Kentucky, as well as many loving lifelong classmates and friends.
Megan was a 2004 graduate of Rowan County Senior High School where she was Homecoming Queen and Miss August during her senior year. She also served on the Prom Court, Sweetheart Court and for two years was selected Daisy Mae at the Sadie Hawkins Dance.
She attended Morehead State University and the ITT Technical Institute in Lexington, Kentucky, majoring in internet design. Megan loved all people and enjoyed working with the disabled of all ages. She had been a volunteer at the Life Care Center of Morehead.
