Brant Warner passed away peacefully at the age of 61 on Monday, Feb. 21, 2011, surrounded by his beloved Italian Greyhounds, Sissy and Lucky Luciano.

Memorial service: 11 a.m. Friday at Edge Park United Methodist Church, 5616 Crowley Road, Fort Worth.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Southwest Fort Worth Lion's Club, Meals on Wheels or Edge Park United Methodist Church.

Brant was born in Sacramento, California on March 6, 1949. He was a member of Edge Park United Methodist Church. He was a retired Special Education assistant with the Fort Worth ISD, where he worked for 15 years at Bruce Shulkey Elementary School. He was active in Boy Scouts as a young boy.

An excellent bowler, he was on his church bowling league for many years. He was a member of the Southwest Fort Worth Lions Club, where he served as president in past years. He was a member of the unofficial Lunch Bunch at Angelo's Group of Men, which met every Friday to tell jokes and discuss sports. He loved deep-sea fishing in Florida. He viewed all the Texas Rangers and Cowboys games.

Brant's hobbies included collecting music, especially oldies from the 1950s and '60s, standards from the '40s, and original country and western. He enjoyed going out to eat with his friends, watching old sit-coms, old variety shows, crime TV and old movies. He was an avid reader and worked crossword puzzles daily. He enjoyed playing computer games and keeping up with his friends and family on the computer.

Brant was preceded in death by his father, Paul Warner, Retired Air Force, and mother, LaVeda Cornish Warner.

Survivors: Sister, Dawn Simpler and husband, Jimmy; nephews, Jimmy Simpler Jr. and Russell Simpler and his wife, Jennifer; great-nephew, Jake Simpler; uncle, Don and aunt, Dorothy; numerous cousins and friends; and his loyal Italian Greyhound children, Sissy and Lucky Luciano.
