SAN ANGELO - Vivian Fields, 93, died Saturday, July 12, 2008. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 14, at Johnson's Funeral Home. Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, in the funeral home chapel with burial in Fairmount Cemetery.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis Brimer of Bold Knob, Ark.; and sons John Hayley Fields and Kim Fields, both of San Angelo.

SAN ANGELO - VIVIAN EILEEN HAYLEY FIELDS , born Jan. 10, 1915, to Albion and Leila Taylor Hayley at Hayrick, Coke County, Texas. She married ROBERT WESLEY FIELDS on Feb. 12, 1935. Vivian passed away Saturday, July 12, 2008, at Robert Lee Care Center. She was preceded by her husband; her parents; daughter-in-law MARY ANN FILEDS ; grandson DANNY BRIMER ; and three sisters, MILDRED LASSWELL, HELEN KIRKLAND, & IRMA MCCUTCHEON . She is survived by daughter PHYLLIS (R.V.) BRIMER , Bald Knob, Ark., and two sons, JOHN HAYLEY FIELDS & KIM (CAROL) FIELDS , all of San Angelo, Texas. Grandchildren are TOD (DENICE) FIELDS, LORI (KENNY) ROBERTS, JANIE (VAUGHN) LASSITER, STEPHEN FIELDA, RANDY (ERICA) FIELDS, LYNN (JUNIOR) IVEY, CHRISTINA (FRANK) VICE, & JENNIFER SALLESE. She had 15 great-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Vivian and Wesley Fields were married for 50 years, living in Edith, Bronte, Tankersley and San Angelo. All of this time she maintained contact with her family including her sisters and many aunts and cousins sending long detailed letters which they sometimes forwarded to others in the family. In the 1940's she was very active in the Tankersley Home Demonstration club as well as being the "Lunch Lady" at Tankersley School. Vivian, Mother, Mammaw, Aunt Vivian, "The Worm Lady" always loved and was most interested in all things her family and friends were participating in and learning about. She read all kinds of books, wrote prose, poetry and music (being self taught), painted in most mediums, sculpted, and gathered a great deal of genealogical information about the Hayley and Fields families. For many years she sold fishing worms to the public from her home and to most bait stands in the San Angelo area. She was a long time member of the San Angelo Art Club, winning awards and ribbons and prepared the Club Newsletter for several years. Membership in the San Angelo Writers Club gave her great pleasure. She served on the Board of Christmas in April and she enjoyed her association with members of the Button Club of San Angelo. She was always interested in politics and almost never missed the opportunity to vote. Her last years were spent in Robert Lee at the Care Center, where she developed a very close relationship with all the staff. Their loving care is greatly appreciated by all her family. For her entire life, she communicated to those around her the deep respect and affection she had for her Papa and Mama and the community at the foot of Hayrick Mountain in Coke County, Texas, where she was born and lived until young adulthood. She was very proud of playing on the basketball team and graduating from Bronte High School. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, July 14, 2008, at Johnson's Funeral Home, San Angelo, Texas, with the funeral at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, in Johnson's Funeral Home chapel and interment in Fairmount Cemetery. Pallbearers will be BOB LASWELL, MARTIN LEE, KENNETH MCCUTCHEN, JOE FIELDS, RANDY FIELDS, & STEPHEN FIELDS
