Birth: Jun. 6, 1789
Clarke County
Georgia, USA
Death: Aug. 12, 1871
Chambers County
Alabama, USA

Polly married John Trammell on 13 Jul 1807 in Clarke co, Georgia. They had 10 children: Sarah, Susan E, John Young, George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Joel Dickinson, William Monroe, James Harris, Francis Asbury, and Olivia Trammell.

Polly was the daughter of Joel Putnam Dickinson (born 1751- died 1820 in Hancock co, Georgia). His spouse unknown.

Polly was the granddaughter of patriot Captain John Dickinson and Susan Smith. Capt John was born 1730 in Edgecombe co, NC and died 1783 in Edgecombe co, NC. He married Susan about 1755 in NC and they had at least two children (Joel and Sarah). John commanded a company in the North Carolina militia. He suffered great loss as the Tories destroyed his property. (See DAR national #126.394)

"Captain John Dickinson's father was Daniel Dickinson, died in Wayne co, NC, 1779. Daniel Dickinson's parents were John Dickinson and his wife Rebecca. John Dickinson died in Northampton co, NC, 1749, and his wife Rebecca Dickinson died in the same county, 1753. The Dickinsons were a very old Quaker family related branches of which settled in Talbot co, Maryland, and in the lower part of Virginia and in the North Carolina counties along the Virginia line. The records of Bertie county, North Carolina, show that John Dickinson was in the county as early as 1719 and that he was married before 1725, his wife signed deeds with him at that date."
