operator for 40 years at the
New York Air Brake Co.,
and formerly of Watertown,
died this morning in the
House of the Good Samaritan,
where he had been a
patient since July 29.
The funeral will be
Thursday at 9 a.m. at the
Simpson Funeral Home
with Rev. Roswell G. Williams,
rector of St. Paul's
Episcopal Church, officiating.
Burial will be in North
Watertown Cemetery.
Friends may call at the
funeral home Wednesday
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Surviving are his wife.
Mrs. June K. Sayer Ward;
a daughter. Mrs. Harold V.
(Marian Louise) Allyn, Carthage;
three brothers, Ernest
E., Deferiet; Lorne C,
Chaumont, and Charles H.,
San Bernardino, Calif.; a
sister, Mrs. Archie (Clara)
Rose, 447 S. Pleasant St.,
eight grandchildren and
two great-grandchildren.
Born Aug. 4, 1908, at Glen
Park, a son of Thomas W.
and Ada Rendle Ward, he
was graduated from Watertown
High School and years
ago worked for the St. Regis
Paper Co., Deferiet. He
was a machine operator at
the New York Air Brake
Co. for 40 years until retirement
five years ago at the
age of 62.
He married the former
June K. Sayer, Dec. 8,1930,
in the parsonage of Holy
Family Church. Mr. and
Mrs. Ward had lived at
Three Mile Point, R.D. 1,
for more than 30 years.
