Ricky Don Goss was the oldest of the two children born to Ricky Dale Goss and Lynda Rae Beyers. He was a good natured baby, always highly interested in all that was taking place around him. He was quite intrepid, never seeming to find anything to fear in this new place. He would as a toddler, take off down a flight of stairs as if it was level ground. I know I lost years off my life watching him explore his world. During one visit at a very early age, maybe two, he woke early and preceded to the kitchen. His mother spotted him as she was coming downstairs, on the table grasping a large glass honey jar. It slipped through his grasp, shattering, throwing honey and glass all over the table.

Ricky had a very large and tender heart. He couldn't bear for anyone to feel hurt. He was often pestered by his younger sister, but even when he was angry with her, he still wanted to take care of her. He was highly intelligent, a gifted child, who skimmed through his school work. He decided to join the Navy after graduation and chose the Submarine as his choice of service. He loved it, but after his first daughter was born, he decided that his family couldn't come first if he was to be at sea for 6 months at a time, so he gave it up. Typical of how he thought things through and tried to do the best for all.

He married Neeley Lake and was the father of Hannah Marie and Abigail Dawn. He loved his daughters with a passion. They were the most important people in his life. He was also a loving husband, son, brother, nephew and grandson. He gave his heart to Jesus, taking Him as his Savior, a number of years ago. This is our saving grace. We lost him to a car wreck, and life will never be the same without him, but although we are left with heavy hearts, we look to a future, where we know we will all be together again.

Ricky is my grandson, dearly loved forever.

Ashes were buried June 26, 2017 with his dad.

Paternal Grandfather Donald Ray Goss
Cousin Terrance Levi Martin
