SAREPTA - Raymond Delaine "Jellybean" Dickson, 82, died Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2006, at his home. He was born July 17, 1923, in Calhoun County to Carnice Rabon Dickson and Grace Kate Arnold. He retired after 30 years with A&P Grocery Stores. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bruce. He was a Boy Scout leader of Troop 304, Schoolfield Methodist Church in Memphis, and a nursery worker for many years at Ardmore Baptist Church in Memphis.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Bruce with the Rev. Michael Ratliff, the Rev. Daniel Hathorne and the Rev. Junior Ritchie officiating. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Martha Hipp Dickson of Sarepta; two daughters, Nancee Kay Ratliff and husband, Ron, of Tupelo, and Paula Lundgren and husband, Nils, of Sardis; one son, Ray Dickson and wife, Jan, of Gaithersburg, Md.; one sister, Jean Grimes of Sardis; grandchildren, Kimberly Estes, Alicia Coggin, Rhonda Jolly, Michael Ratliff, Ryan Lundgren, Brad Lundgren, Timothy Dickson, Suzanna Dickson; great-grandchildren, Justin Lundgren, Brittany Loague, Austin Jolly, Taylor Lundgren, Trey Ratliff, Weslee Lundgren, Kelly Coggin and David Jolly.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Benjamin Arnold Dickson.
Pallbearers will be Ryan Lundgren, Brad Lundgren, Cliff Ester, Keith Coggin, Timothy Dickson, Mark Jolly, Bryan Dickson and Reed Dickson.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday at the family residence at 1377 Hwy. 9 North at Bruce.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Creative Learning Center, First Baptist Church of Bruce, 223 E. Johnson St., Bruce, MS 38915.
