She married Dixon Martin Harp in about 1798 in Georgia, at the age of 16. She has been described as a gentle, meek woman, who stood small in stature and possessed high cheek bones with dark hair, divulging a trace of Native American blood. She was a woman of faith who was frugal and of strong character.
