Doris M. Ackerman, age 79, of Clare, passed away Jan. 24, 1999, in Mt. Pleasant.
She was born on May 16, 1919, in Clare County, the daughter of Ernest and Vera (Chapple) Ramey. She married Ralph Ackerman on October 31, 1944, in Clare.
Doris had lived her entire live in the Clare area. She had worked for Kraft Foods and Sun Oil doing clerical duties and Michigan Bell Telephone as an operator.
She was a member of the Clare United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Stars.
Surviving Doris is her husband Ralph; a son, Joe and Deb Ackerman of Clare; a daughter, Jill and Al Marshall of Clare; a brother, Bob and Jean Ramey of Mt. Pleasant; a sister, Mildred Dawson of Texas; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Doris was predeceased by a brother, Don, and a daughter-in-law, Kim.
Services for Doris will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 27 at 3:00 p.m. at the Clare United Methodist Church with Rev. Gregory Wolfe officiating. Burial will be in the Cherry Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.
