Vernon "Vern" Comly, age 88, of Peoria, Illinois, formerly of Plano, Illinois, passed away on Friday, December 22, 2000 at Sharon Elms Health Care Center in Peoria, Illinois. He was born December 18, 1912 in Plano, Illinois, the son of Edwin C. and Pearl (Usilton) Comly.
Mr. Comly was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Plano, Illinois. In his younger years Vern enjoyed working out of doors and spent his leisure time reading.
Vernon is survived by his dear sister Hester Cain of Denton, Texas.
Mr. Comly was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Albert "Dick" Comly.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 26, 2000 at the Larson-Nelson Funeral Home Plano, 1010 W. South Street, Plano, Illinois, with Elder Dwayne Young of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints officiating. Interment will follow in the Little Rock Township Cemetery, Plano, Illinois.
