Norman attended the University of Alabama Aeronautical Engineering, was commissioned in the U.S. Army Air Corps and is a retired U.S. Air Force Command Pilot who served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He served in the Air Force from January 21, 1942 to November 10, 1964. He received a Bachelor of General Education from the University of Nebraska at Omaha majoring in Military Science, World Geography and World Resources. He also received a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from the University of Central Florida majoring in Production Tool Design, Production Management and Computers. Norman worked for General Electric and the Boeing Company and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Orlando. He was a member of the Pine Castle United Methodist Church, Pine Castle Masonic Lodge, a 32 Degree Mason and a Shriner. Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Dona Louise Cherry Armstrong; children: Lisa Susan (Michael) of Orlando and Martin Edward (Pam) of Kissimmee; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jerrad) Butler, Kristine (Joe) Shunamon, Kerin (Rob) Hawkins and Mark Newsome and six great-grandchildren. A Masonic ceremony with full military honors will be held on June 17, 2011 at the Carey Hand Colonial Funeral Home in Orlando. Published in the Orlando Sentinel on June 15, 2011
