An Old Citizen Dies Suddenly
The Funeral To-Morrow
William E. Whiting, a member of the tailoring firm of Whiting & Johnson, and for twenty-five years a resident of Kansas City, during all of which time he has been actively engaged in business here, died at his late residence, 1422 Independence avenue, Tuesday night at 9:10 o'clock of pneumonia. Mr. Whiting was taken sick Saturday last, but his poor health for the past year had shattered his constitution.
The deceased was a member of Kansas City lodge No. 20, A. F. and A. M., Kansas City Royal Arch chapter No. 28 and Kansas City Commandary No. 10. Mr. Whiting was well known in local Masonic circles and had filled all the offices in Kansas City lodge No. 20, having been its worshipful master for five years.
His funeral will occur Friday morning at 10 o'clock, and will be in charge of the Masons. Services will be held at the family residence and also at Trinity Episcopal church. Mr. Whiting leaves a wife and two children.
