Born in Kingstree, SC, Dot was a daughter of the late Bartow and Hessie Frierson Burgess. Also predeceased were two sisters, Georgia Audrey Burgess, and Adelle 'Mickey' Ward. She was a school teacher in Orangeburg and Greenville counties, but Dot thought her most important job was taking care of her family and home. She was a member of John Knox Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are two sons, John Bartow Davis and his wife Dianne, and William Robert 'Bill' Davis and his wife Norma; nine grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
Committal services will be held at the Columbarium at John Knox Presbyterian Church at 2 p.m., Sun., Nov. 21. Visitation will be in the Chapel immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lutheran Hospice, 218 Trade St., Greer, SC 29651; or John Knox Presbyterian Church, 35 Shannon Dr., Greenville, SC 29615. The family will be at Chris and Julie Wells' residence, 416 Meadowsweet Dr., Greenville.
