Birth: Feb. 28, 1842
Death: Feb. 8, 1917

From the Coweta Co. Chronicles Of Coweta Co., Ga. He lived all his life in Coweta Co., except for three years in Cocoa, Fl. He was the 6th of 9 children. His picture is on page 681 of Coweta Co. Chronicles written by his daughter. Attened community school in Macedonia and Daniel Walker Academy. In 1861 he left Hearn Institue at Cave Springs to enter the Confederate army Instead of Mercer University as planned. Trained at Camp McDonald. In Co. D., Phillips Legion, Calvery June 1861 under Capt. Wilcoxon. After the Battle of Seven Pines he was transferred to Macon Light Artillery until surrender at Appomattox on Apr. 9, 1865. After the war, he farmed for a year and then taught school at Franklin, Ga. with his brother John. Then in Heard Co. until June, 1868.

Director of Newnan First National Bank. Democrat. Members of Central Baptist Church. Buried at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newnan, Ga.
