Eugene was the son of John Wesley Maylone and Ruth E. Gifford, of Moscow, Muscatine Co., Iowa.
He married Margaret Gertrude Essex in Muscatine Co., Iowa. They were the parents of Joseph "Joe", John Jay, Fred Sylvester, Charles E., Paul Wilber, and Robert James Maylone.

Death Summons Eugene Maylone at the Family Home.
Eugene Maylone, aged 69 years, died at 2:30 p.m., Thursday at his home on 909 East Eight street after a year's illness with complications.
Born in Muscatine county, Aug. 18, 1872, the son of John and Ruth Gifford Maylone, he had spent his entire life here.
He married Gertrude Essex on July 3, 1901. Mr. Maylone was a member of the Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, six sons, Joe and John of Muscatine, Fred of Dorchester, Mass., Charles, Paul, and Robert of Muscatine, and 20 grandchildren.
His parents, one sister and two brothers preceded him in death.
The body is at the George M. Wittich Home, and will remain there for rites at 1:30 p.m., Sunday. A second service will be held at 2 o'clock at the Bloomington Friends Church with the Rev. Guilford Street, pastor, in charge.
Burial will be in the Klien cemetery.
