Obituary:

FALLWELL-----Mrs. W. L. Fallwell was born October 9, 1853 and died April 8, 1935. Her maiden name was Josephine Chadwick and her childhood home was near Mobile, Alabama. She was left an orphan early in life and lived with her grandparents until Mr. Chadwick sold his plantation and moved to Texas when she was thirteen years of age. She married W. L. Fallwell in 1868 and to this union was born several sons four of whom are now living. Her husband preceded her in death ten years ago. She obeyed the gospel early in life under the preaching of Brother Wright at Chico, Texas. Her family moved to Greer County, Oklahoma in 1890 and she and her husband helped to establish a congregation in that part near Mangum and Granite. They then moved to Hereford, Texas in 1903 and helped to establish the church in that place. In 1930 she moved to Friona with her son. Her body was taken to Hereford and laid beside her husband and her spirit returned to God who gave it. It was my duty to speak words of comfort in the Hereford Church of Christ. In speaking of the work of pioneer preachers we ought not to forget the work of these aged mothers of Israel that have done so much for the church.
