2nd Lieutenant Brown was killed when U.S. Army Air Corps B-24E Liberator #41-28413 crashed into a canyon wall, ten miles southeast of Merna, Nebraska, April 29, 1944 while on a flight from Chicago to Denver. All ten aboard perished.
