Mrs. Charles "Cy" (Florence A.) Urbanek, 78, of 844 N. Sixth St., Manitowoc, died early Tuesday morning following a lingering illness.
Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. The Rev. William Zimmer will officiate and burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.
Mrs. Urbanek, nee Florence Forst, was born Jan. 7, 1899, in Tisch Mills, daughter of the late Wenzel and Mary Konop Forst. She was educated in Tisch Mills Schools and was married to Charles A. Urbanek June 2, 1920, in Tisch Mills, locating in Manitowoc after marriage. Mrs. Urbanek was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rosary Society of the church, Manitowoc County Republican Women, Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary 710, VFW Otto-Oas Post 659 Auxiliary, American Legion Drews-Bleser Post 88 Auxiliary, ZCBJ Lodge 115 and Manitowoc Lions Auxiliary. She was also a member and past president of Elks Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include her husband, a daughter and a son-in-law, Margaret and George Mike of Milwaukee; five sisters, Mrs. Otto (Alvina) Lange, Miss Helen Forst and Mrs. Anne O'Grady of Milwaukee, Mrs. Frances Lodl of Tisch Mills and Mrs. Alvin "Hogan" (Leona) Kuehl of Kewaunee, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call in Urbanek and Schlei Funeral Home 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday where a prayer service will be conducted at 8 p.m. by Father Zimmer.
