Havre Daily News (MT), 28 Oct 1998Sun City, Ariz.--Alvin P. Brende, 80, of Sun City, Ariz., died Friday, Oct. 16, 1998, at a Phoenix VA hospital. Funeral services were Friday, Oct. 23, in Sun City. Burial was at National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.Brende was born in Big Sandy. He was a major in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was employed as a real estate broker in Las Vegas for 20 years, retiring in 1984. In 1992 he moved to Arizona.Survivors include his wife, Ramona L. Brende of Sun City; three daughters, Ruth Arthur of Dallas, and Becky and Katie Brende; three sons, Alvin P. Brende, Jr., of Houston, Bruce Brende of Mammouth Lake, Calif., and John Brende of Los Angeles; four stepsons, Carson, Harold, Harlen and Gale Gerdes; 19 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
