William "Bill" Edgar Clapp, age 89, of Spiceland, passed away Monday, July 2,2012 at Henry County Hospital. He was born Sept. 21,1922 in New Castle, to the late Robert and Minnie (Arnold)Clapp.
He served in the US Army during WWII. Bill enjoyed fishing and camping with his buddies, yard work, working on his house and going to the casino.
Survivors include his brother, Bob L. (wife Joan) Clapp of Spiceland; several nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Marcella Clapp of Spiceland; special friend, Vicki Groce; friends at Scooters Bar and Grill.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Clapp; brothers, Henry, Silas, James, Charles and Earl; sister, Lucy.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, July 6,2012 at Circle Grove Cemetery in Spiceland with Rev. Jack Hannum officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the New Castle American Legion and an active duty contingent of the US Army. Hinsey-Brown Funeral Home in New Castle handled the arrangements.
