Mdewakanton Dakota warrior who fought in the US-Dakota War of 1862. The meaning of his Dakota name is Elder Hawk or Honored Hawk. Alternate spellings and translations of his name include Chay-tow-hoow-ka "Parent Hawk," Cetankunka or Cetan-hunka "The parent pigeon hawk", C hay ton hoon ka "Elder Hawk".
