HAMPTON - Louisa Lambert Brooks, 55, died Tuesday, Aug. 22, in DePaul Hospital, Norfolk.

A native of Ranger, W.Va., Mrs. Brooks was a Hampton resident for 25 years and retired as a secretary from Virginia Power Company in 1989 after 20 years service.

Mrs. Brooks was past secretary of American Businesswoman's Association.

Survivors include her husband, Warren F. Brooks; two stepdaughters, Stephanie Brooks and Elena Henning, both of Hampton; a son, (Michael) Steven Kerr of Hampton; a stepson, Warren David Brooks of Virginia Beach; her mother, Brookie Lambert of Ranger; four sisters, Shirley Pack of Proctorville, Ohio, Iris Brumfield of Hope Valley, R.I., Mona West of Newport News and Eloise Woodmansee of West Point; three brothers, Danny Lambert of Branchland, W.Va., Dallas Lambert and Dennis Lambert, both of Ranger; and three grandchildren.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Peninsula Memorial Park by the Rev. Elmer E. Bosserman.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight in R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.

Lou attended Guyan Valley HS, Branchland, WV. Married Ronald Lee Kerr May 3, 1955 in Pleasant Lake, IN. The Kerr family moved to Hampton/Newport News, Va. in 1964. Subsequently (1980?) she divorced Ronald Kerr and married Warren Brooks.

My favorite aunt -- sorry that circumstance and times caused us to be separated. Am every so grateful for all that you did to welcome me to be a resident of VA. You are so very much missed by all those who knew you.
