Henry James Thompson III, a lieutenant with the Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff's Office, died Monday of a heart attack at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was 51. Mr. Thompson was born in New Orleans and lived in Marrero for the past 22 years. He graduated from L.B. Landry High School and was a corporal in the Marine Corps. He was a member of the choir, vice president of the male chorus, chaplain of the senior choir and chairman of the homecoming committee at Greater St. John Baptist Church of Barataria. He also was a member of Mount Pilgrim Lodge 91.
