MYERS, ROY J. "JOE," died peacefully at his residence in New Port Richey, FL on November 8, 2013.
He was born and raised in Louisville KY. Joe was born on November 21, 1941 in Louisville to Roy B. Myers and Verda M. (French) Myers. He graduated from Saint Xavier HS and attended Bellarmine College. He was a police officer on the Louisville City Police Department before becoming a Special Agent with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms. He retired, Special Agent Badge #961, from the Ashland KY ATF Post of Duty in 1997. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and active in the Ashland community until retiring to Florida in 2004.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his spouse, Judy G. (Richardson) Myers.
He is survived by his three sons, Joseph B. Myers and wife Tami Eschrig of San Antonio TX, Joshua H. Myers of Lexington KY and Jeremy V. Myers of Chambersburg PA. He had three beautiful granddaughters that he believed hung the moon, Hannah, Adison and Stella. He is also survived by two sisters Janice M. Smith and husband Charles Smith of Davenport IA and Jacqueline K. Hornung, and her husband Jim of Ocala FL.
