Mildred better known as Millie was born in Pontlottyn In The Rhymney Valley of South Wales on 31st March 1931 To Mother Margaret May Davies and Farther Thomas Arthur Davies.
Millie was one of 17 children and grew up in Board Street Pontlottyn till she was 20 where their house was to be demolished so her mother and father relocated to a newly built local authority House at 41 Heolddu Grove Bargoed 5 miles south of their previous home.
Sadly in 1952 Millie's father who served in World War 1 and in The Home Guards During World War 2 was killed whilst at work In Bargoed Colliery. Millie was just 21.
Millie worked for years as sewing machinist at James Smith & Co of Rhymney. And Also For A Short Time At JR Freeman Cigar Factory Cardiff.
Millie had some tough challenges in Life as she had TB and also had a serious blood clot.
In Later years as Millie took care of her mother as she became ill due to getting old and as Millie never married and Siblings not all 17 As some died as children but ones that survived had families of their own to care of it was down To Millie to take care of her mother which she did right up and until her death in 1989 at the age of 91.
As Millie was getting older her health started to decline but she had happy moments by having her niece great nieces and great nephews around her and seeing her more or less everyday.
Millie Passed on the 21st May 2012 at the age of 81 at her home 41 Heolddu Grove, Bargoed where she spent over 60 years of her life living and had a lot of memories of her family there.
