Honey was a precious little mousebeing, adopted from the local animal rescue. She had not been socialized, and spent her days there alone in an aquarium type container.
Initially she was very apprehensive of everyone, but with great patience and some time I coaxed her into trusting me.
I'd made a darling little mouse house for her and she would play inside and outside in her 'front yard' - never attempting to leave.
She of course loved to play and snooze on Mommy, and snuggled against my neck or down in my sleeve.
A thumb-sized angel, she gave so much love. Honey developed an abdominal tumor and our vet removed it. She recovered nicely but the tumor grew again and today we had to see her to the Bridge, with very great sorrow...she was in pain that could not be relieved, from a cancer called hemosarcoma.
With my heart totally breaking I was with her till the last, then lovingly brought her home.
She was a valiant, gentle little spirit who taught me a lot about courage and strength. I miss your dear presence, Honey.
"We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle , easily and often breached.
Unable to accept its awful gaps, we still would live no other way.
We cherish memory as the only certain immortality, never fully
understanding the necessary plan..."
