Services for Ruth Elliott, 70, of Davis, will be at 10 a.m. today, July 18, 2008, in Midway Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Willard McCartney Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery, Ardmore.
Born April 10, 1938, in Ardmore to Jake and Sarah Francis "Fannie" Smith Ashley, she entered into rest Tuesday, July 15, 2008. She married Jesse "Chic" Elliott, in Gainesville, Texas, in 1956. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, 7-year-old Kendra Elliott; two brothers, James Ashley and Hershel Ashley; and a sister, Mary Ford.
She grew up and attended school in Ardmore where she and her husband made their home and raised their family. After her husband's death in 1992, she moved to Davis, where she worked as a bank teller at the Landmark Bank. Her family was her life.
Survivors include a son, Larry Elliott and wife, Erin, and one daughter, Karen Cormier and husband, Charles, all of Davis; a sister, Laverne Granger, Orangefield, Texas; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Ashley, Ardmore; brother-in-law, Wayne Ford, Orangefield; special nieces, Donna Cranmore, South Dakota, and Donna Ford, Orangefield; six grandchildren, Jacob Elliott and wife, Haylie, Lacee Elliott, Eric Cormier, Justin McCloskey, Trevor Elliott, and Luke Sparks, all of Davis; and many special friends.
Bearers will be Lloyd Ashley, Michael Granger, Daren Granger, Ronnie Ford, Ronnie Davis, James Daren Ashley and Justin McCloskey.
