Obituary:
Dr. Alphons E. Bachhuber, 70, 811 Main Ave., who practiced medicine here from 1932 until his retirement in 1971, died early today after a lengthy illness.

He was born in Mayville and earned his BA and MA degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He obtained his MD degree at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore.

Bachhuber interned at Woman's Hospital in Baltimore and did postgraduate work at the University of Vienna in Austria. He practiced with his father in Mayville from 1927 until moving to Kaukauna.

He was a member of the Kaukauna Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Order of Foresters, the Kaukauna Lions Club, the state Historical Society and was a life member of the Kaukauna Elks Club. He also was a member of the county and state Medical Societies, the American Medical Association and the American Academy of General Practice.

Survivors include the widow, three daughters, four sons, three brothers, a sister and 16 grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Greenwood Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St.

Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna, with burial in the parish cemetery. A memorial has been established.
