Sally was brought with her mom and siblings to the vet tech school at Central Carolina Community College. Sally and a sibling were the last to be adopted. The financial secretary wanted Sally's sibling, but didn't want to leave Sally alone, so I took Sally home. She was a tiny little kitten about 4-5 weeks old. When I got her home my other cats ignored her but my dog, Puzzle, adopted her. Puzzle carried Sally in her mouth and would let Sally "nurse" on her. Once when she was about 5 months old, 2 german shepherd pups had her cornered. Puzzle ran off the pups, and made her go back to the house. She would climb on Puzzle's back and give Puzzle massages. Sally loved to hunt and was always bringing home her "kills", many times though they weren't dead. She loved to go outside and would slip outside every chance she got, sometimes without me knowing she had even gotten outside. She would run around the house three times before she'd let me catch her. Sally was very talkative and would talk to me as I sang to her. Her favorite sone was "Dream a Little Dream of Me". She also liked the Vonage Phone commerical tune, and would come running into the room when it was on the TV. She also liked the music that played on a cellphone game, and I would play it for her and she would push the phone around and try picking it up. She was the peace keeper in the house. If I got to fussing at one of the other cats for something, She would wrap her paws around my leg, and talk to me. It was just like she was saying "it's ok Mom, don't be upset." She helped me with the laundry, sitting in the dryer as I got the clothes out, and playing with the clothes as I folded them. Sally startled easily and loud noises scared her. I had let her and her brothers outside on a sunny, summer day. Something scared her and she ran across the street and got hit by a car. She's buried in a small wooded area behind the house, where she would go and hunt.
Special thanks to Melanie for sponsoring Sally's memorial, it is very much appreciated.
