TORNADO KILLS 60, INJURES 152, IN OMAHA

(The above is the front page headline concerning a tornado that travels though Omaha on Easter Sunday morning. The tornado’s path was several miles long and two to five city blocks wide. Below is a transcription of one many articles on the front page.)

BODIES OF TWO WOMEN TAKEN FROM RUINS OF PATRICK HYNES’ HOME

The bodies of Mrs. Anson H. Bigelow and Mrs. Rose Fitzgerald, the daughter of the late Dr. E. H. Fitzgerald, were taken from the ruins of the home of Patrick Hynes, their father, near the corner of Twentieth and Niama, about 9 o’clock. Mr. Hynes and his / daughter Geneviene, together with Anson H. Bigelow and his daughter, Lucile had been rescued from the ruins early in the evening and taken to the St. Joseph’s hospital.

The double funeral of Mrs. Rose Hynes Fitzgerald, 2704 North Twentieth street, and Mrs. A. H. Bigelow, 2527 Cass street, was held yesterday from St. John’s church. Mrs. Biglow and Mrs. Fitzgerald are daughters of Patrick Hynes.
