Chelsea was born in Missouri, where she lived until sometime between the 1910 and 1920 census, by which time she was living in Mineral WA. It is believed that her brother came to Mineral looking for work and that the rest of the family followed. Chelsea was a housewife, devoting her life to raising her two sons.

For many years after her marriage, she lived in a small shake house with a wood stove for heating and cooking and no indoor plumbing. In the mid-1950's the extended family built a new home for Robert and Chelsea with all of the modern conveniences on the lot next door.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years and her son, both named Robert. She was a resident of Mineral WA for 70+ years.
