Services are 3 p.m. Saturday, March 20, in the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Chapel with Pastor Neil Dye officiating. Burial is in Riverview Sweaney Cemetery under the direction of the Cantlon Otterness Funeral Home of Buffalo. Memorials may be made to the 3 Angels Broadcasting Network, P.O. Box 220, West Frankfort, IL 62896-0220. Elsie Joan Bragaw was born Aug. 9, 1932, in Warrensburg, the daughter of the late Paul and Pansy (Trapp) Palmer. She died March 17, 2004, at her home near Long Lane, at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 8 days. She was raised in the Lees Summit area and graduated from high school there. She was united in marriage with Ray Bragaw on May 31, 1952, in Lees Summit, and to this union three children were born. She began working for McKesson and Robbins as a clerk and attended business school at that time. They made their home in the Lees Summit area before moving to Greenwood. She also worked for Unity School of Christianity and the Missouri Conference of Seventh-day Adventist. In 1970, she and her husband started their own business, Overnight Printing and Business Supply, in Grandview. They continued to operate their business for special customers after moving to Long Lane in 1995. She loved building and planning and gardening, especially raising pansies as a special pastime. She was noted for her potato salad. Her special love, other than her family, was reading and working in church. She and her husband were Pathfinder leaders for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Bolivar Seventh-day Adventist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Pauline Pittman. Survivors include her husband, Ray; two sons: Tim Bragaw, Clovis, Calif., and Paul Bragaw, Elizabeth, Colo.; one daughter, Patty Byrd, Grander, Ind.; one sister, Mary Catherine Frye, Lees Summit; five grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other family, church family and friends who will all sadly miss her.
