Howard E. 'Bubba' Blymiller, 62, of Parker, died at 4:33 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2000, in the Veterans Administration Medical Center at Oakland in Pittsburgh following an extended illness.
Born Feb. 28, 1938, in Parker, he was a son of Leaudra Cobbett Blymiller of Parker and the late Ellsworth E. Blymiller.
He was a 1956 graduate of the former Parker High School.
Mr. Blymiller entered the U.S. Army in 1961, serving until 1963. He attained the rank of Spc/4 and served in the Pacific area in the service.
He began employment with the former Glass Containers Corp. in Parker in 1956 and worked there until its closing in 1980, except for his military service.
Mr. Blymiller served as custodian of the Parker VFW and the Parker Fire Department until his retirement earlier this year.
He was a member of American Legion Post 636 of Foxburg, a social member of VFW Post 7073 of Parker and life member of the Parker City Volunteer Fire Department.
Mr. Blymiller was of the United Methodist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Melissa) Buck of Hilliards; a sister, Mrs. William (Joyce) Zimmel of Chambersburg; a brother, William Blymiller of Cleveland, Tenn.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Friends were received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2000 in the funeral home. Interment was in Parker Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Parker City Volunteer Fire Department, Parker. Pa. 16049.
