Ruth E. Hair, 83, of Carlisle, passed away Monday, Feb. 26, 2007, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Hair was born in Cumberland County on Nov. 24, 1923, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Effie (Smyser) Goodling.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church New Kingstown.
She was the widow of Lester E. Hair.
She is survived by a son, Stephen A. Hair, of Carlisle; two daughters, Marjorie A. Shannon of Newville and Martha I. Mellott of Carlisle; a sister, Dorothy Hess of Carlisle; eight grandchildren; and 18 great grandchildren. Ruth was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Wolford; a son-in-law, Boyd Mellott; three brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held in Trinity United Methodist Church, New Kingstown, at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 2, with The Rev. Joseph L. Kugle officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery Carlisle.
There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Myers Funeral Home of Mechanicsburg and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to to her church, 4 West Main St., New Kingstown, PA 17072.
