Jacob married Jennie Alice Murr(a)y 20 Oct 1885 in Germantown, Montgomery Co., Ohio at the residence of Pastor Albert F. Siebert of the Emmanuel's Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Jacob and Jennie first located in Liberty Twp., Van Wert Co., Ohio and then relocated to Franklin, Warren Co., Ohio and reared the family of 11. Luther Henry, Mary Jane, Laura N., Jacob Oliver, Jefferson Richard, Hazel Mae, William Lee, Paul Jennings, Ora Murray, Robert Nelson, and Perle E. Cummings.

Jacob passed on 14 Apr. 1934 and now rests in Woodhill Cemetery, Franklin, Warren Co., Ohio.
