MILLERSBURG -- Richard Kenneth "Dick" Morrison, 84, of Fairway Drive, Millersburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2011, at Majora Lane Care Center, after a brief illness.
Memorial services will be held noon Saturday at Millersburg Christian Church, with the Revs. Trevor Littleton and Jerry Craycraft officiating.
Calling hours will begin at 10 a.m. at the church before the services. Arrangements are being handled by Alexander Funeral Home, Millersburg.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Holmes County Hospice, 931 Wooster Road, Millersburg 44654; Holmes County Training Center, 8001 Township Road 574, Holmesville 44633; or Millersburg Christian Church, 125 N. Clay St., Millersburg 44654.
He was born in 1926 in Glenmont to John W. and Alma Morrison, and married Marjorie Jane Calhoun on Feb. 24, 1946. She preceded him in death. On May 20, 1989, he married Allegra (Keyser) Hamsher. She survives.
Dick was the owner of Millersburg Electric for 20 years and was employed for several years with the Holmes County Training Center.
He was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Navy, and was a member of Millersburg Christian Church, the Masons for many years, and Millersburg American Legion.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are children, Richard L. (Vicki) of Bokeelia, Fla., Roger K. (Nikki) of Atlanta, Ga., MaryAnne Cline (Randall K.) of Mechanicsburg, Pa., and Reid E. (Wenda) of Trinity, Fla.; stepchildren, Patti Jackson and Amy Hinkle; grandchildren, Julie Zeager, Jeff Morrison, John Morrison, Michael Cline, Paul Cline, Megan Hughes and Kaitlin Morrison; step-grandchildren, Carl Jackson, Taylor Jackson and Sara Jones; great-grandchildren, Marjorie Zeager, Brendon Hughes and Alyssa Hughes; a step-great-grandchild, Alex Bell; brothers and sisters, Polly (Tug) Weber, Joanna (Ed) Hunter, Charlotte (Bob) Conn, Bob (Lucy, deceased), Bill (Jennifer), Terry (Pam), Karen (Howard) Cooper and Tom (Tacy); and numerous other family members.
Dick will be missed by his family, friends and many in the community.
