Julie R. Jacks
Miss Julie Rochelle Jacks, 26, a Police Officer of Chattanooga, Tenn., died Monday, May 6, 2002, when she was shot in the line of duty.
A former Jefferson resident, Miss Jacks was a daughter of Frank Jacks, Ooltewah, Tenn., and Becky Ferguson Jacks, Chattanooga, Tenn., also both formerly of Jefferson.

Friends described Miss Jacks as an "outstanding" officer and person. UTC Criminal Justice Professor Roger Thompson grew very close to her and said, "It's very sobering, when you think of how young, not only how young of a life, but what talent was there and to think about the sacrifice."
