Edouard was born in Canada, and settled in Chicago. He was a shoemaker, and married Delina Trudelle, who was also born in Canada. They had 10 children. His brother George Henry Bartlett was my grandfather. Their mother was Christine Chartrand. Their father was Jean Baptiste Berthelet, who was also born in Canada, but died while working in the shipyards in Chicago. He was kicked in the chest by a horse.
