Funeral services for Myrtis M. Calhoun of Pitts will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Baptist Church in Wilcox County. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will greet friends Friday evening at Rainey Family Funeral Services from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Calhoun, 83, passed away Thursday at Crisp Regional Hospital. Born in Turner County, she was the daughter of the late Henry Robert and Mary Vassie Joyner Morgan. She was a retired hairdresser and an active member of Seville Baptist Church and the Adult Sunday School Class. Mrs. Calhoun is survived by her children and their spouses, Dianne Calhoun of Pitts, Kay C. and Henry Johnson of Fitzgerald and Mike and Elizabeth Calhoun of Dublin; four grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Kagan McClain of Dublin, Emily Johnson of Fitzgerald, Brian Calhoun of Atlanta, and Kelly and Brian Mason of Dublin; and four great-grandchildren, Chloe McClain, Audrey McClain, Hayden Mason and Dillon Mason; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lloyd A. Calhoun and siblings, Warren Morgan, Lath Morgan and Polly Ingram.
