He was born in LaGrange, Indiana, on May 16, 1926, to Clarence and Nora (Swihart) Holcomb. On April 6, 1947 he married Francis Merriman. She died September 21, 2001.
Mr. Holcomb, a long time resident of Goshen, retired in 1990 from Duplex Printing in quality control. Prior to that he had worked 25 years as a manager for Kauffman Oil Co.
He was a member of the Goshen City Church of the Brethren.
Mr. Holcomb is survived by a son, Lindell Holcomb of San Diego, California; a brother, Kenneth (Junelle) Holcomb of Elkhart; and a son-in-law, George Thurston of Bumpass, Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Francis; and a daughter, Nila Thurston.
Friends will be received 1 to 5 p.m., Sunday, September 10, 2006, at the funeral home.
A 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 11, 2006, funeral service will be held at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. Pastor Yvonne Riege of Goshen City Church of the Brethren will officiate.
Burial will be in Violett Cemetery, Goshen.
Memorial contributions may be given to Disaster Child Care in care of Brethren Service Center, New Windsor, Maryland.
