John grew up in Maxey, Crawford Co., and married Mahala Catherine Gabbard, 22 Apr 1880 Crawford Co., Arkansas. She was the daughter of Jacob B Gabbard and Mahala Marcum of KY.
John and Mahala had two known children:
1) Cynthia Virginia "Jennie"(Nott) Isaacs:
1883 – 1930
2) Sarah Talitha "Lida" Josephine (Nott) Rucks: 1885 – 1923
His wife Mahala died abt 1887 and John married 2nd: Nancy Jane Duvall, 10 Jan 1891, Crawford Co., Arkansas.
They had the following known children:
1) Ida (Nott) Shook: 1892 – 1968
2) Mary Temperance (Nott) Houston: 1895 – 1968
3) Orabelle E Nott: 1897 – aft 1910
4) Margaret Delilah (Nott) Pierce: 1902 – 1990
5) John Prebble Nott: 1904 – 1979
6) Harrison Roosevelt Nott: 1907 – 1963
7) Homer Jefferson Nott: 1910 – 1972
In 1930 he resided in Webb City, Oklahoma and occupation was listed as: Minister. His widow Nancy remarried George W Atchley and he was buried in this cemetery, 1954. Where Nancy Duvall Nott Atchley is buried is in Los Angeles.
