He was the only son of Ray Webb Stone and Sarah May Hipwell. He worked for the Railroad from the time he was 17 first as a messenger and then as file clerk, car clerk, and he worked many years in the Master Mechanic's Office. He enjoyed big leage baseball. He was ill for much of his life and lost his wife Lois in 1934 which left him with 3 daughters and a baby boy. His mother was a great help to him thruout the rest of his life. (His father Ray had died in 1928. Clyde retired from the railroad in 1951. When he was young and healty he and his wife Lois enjoyed dancing and they made several trips to California for which he was glad since she died so young, I don't think he ever quite got over that loss, but at they are together again now.
