Son of James Arthur McCaig and Ora Lee (Hughes) McCaig. Brother of Horace Edward McCaig, Annie Mae McCaig Holland, Charles Travis McCaig, Audrey Estelle McCaig McCollum Black, Lena Ozell McCaig Justus, Grace McCaig Smith, and Rogers E. McCaig


James Buford McCaig married Kathryn Looney and they had one son, James Ray McCaig. They divorced 12/04/1958 Memphis, TN. (Kathryn Looney McCaig later married David Holmes.)


James B. McCaig, 56, of Fort Walton Beach, Florida, formerly of Memphis, died Sunday in Montgomery, Alabama. Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Memphis Funeral Home on Union with burial in National Cemetery. He leaves a son, James R. McCaig of Memphis; four sisters, Mrs. Ann Holland of Fort Walton Beach, Mrs. Lena Justice, Mrs. Grace Smith, and Mrs. Estell Black, all of Memphis, and three brothers, Horace McCaig of Westport, Tenn, Charles T. McCaig of Fort Walton Beach, and Roger McCaig of Jackson, Michigan.(Published in The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, TN on January 16, 1980)
