Following note from Pamela Reid
March 30, 2012:

LoRetta,

James Turner, Sr. is my 4th great-grandfather. This memorial at the newer Buck Creek Church is a centograph erected by the DAR as a memorial to him. TURNER researchers in my family strongly believe that he is actually buried at the location of the first Buck Creek Church, that was wooden and burned down. Markers from this cemetery have been found not too far away, in what is now a residential area on Buck Creek. His son, James, Jr, my 3rd great-grandfather, James' wife, Edith, and their daughter's markers have been found at this location.

I suggest that you mark this memorial at Buck Creek Baptist Church as a centograph as James, Sr. is most certainly NOT buried there.

Thank you,
Pam Reid
