SAVANNAH -Michael John One-Speed Banks, 60, of Savannah, Georgia, died Tuesday afternoon, April 24, 2012, at Hospice Savannah. Born in Savannah, Georgia, he was a son of June McCarthy Banks and the late Hayden Hunter Banks, Jr. Michael was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. He was a retired heavy equipment industrial salesman for Atlantic Coastal Equipment. Michael was a volunteer firefighter for the Wilmington Island Division of Southside Fire Department and was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and boating. Surviving are his daughter, Brittany Banks Dyer and her husband, Joey, of Rincon, Georgia; his mother, June M. Banks of Savannah, Georgia; two sisters, Jennifer B. Kolb of Melbourne, Florida, and Julie B. Sublette of Marietta, Georgia; one brother, Hayden H. Banks III of Savannah, Georgia; two step- grandchildren, Timmothy Price Dyer and Zachary Pearis Dyer; two nephews, Cooper Rowan and his wife, Lennie, and Matthew Rowan; two nieces, Kristine Kolb and Brandy Carpenter and her husband, Justin; one great nephew, Brooks Rowan and one great niece, Audrey Carpenter. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Friday evening at Gamble Funeral Service - 410 Stephenson Avenue. The funeral service will be held at 1 o'clock Saturday afternoon at St. John's Episcopal Church conducted by The Reverend Craig E. O'Brien. Interment will be private.
