James Andrew Bussey, Jr. passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 19, 2005. He grew up in the Carver Heights neighborhood of Columbus, Georgia. James attended Spencer High School and graduated from Carver High School in 1966, where he was a member of the band. After attending Tuskegee University he settled in Atlanta. He was a valued career employee of the Georgia Department of Labor and planned to retire from his position as an Engineering Project Manager II later this year. James' greatest treasure was his relationship with his family. He deeply loved his children, Kenneth Wesley Swinton Bussey and Kristi Danielle Bussey. He was devoted to his parents, James A. Bussey Sr. and Marguerite Lindsey Bussey; and valued their counsel throughout his life. James was ever present in the lives of his three younger siblings and their families. Dr. Janet Carole Bussey (Daniel) Talley, Jr., Anita and (Leighanna) Hairston, Margaret Elizabeth Bussey, and Michael L. Bussey Rev. Marlyn Rochon Bussey, Monica and Lindsay. For most of his adult life, Robbie Poe Bussey stood at James' side as his devoted wife. James was blessed to welcome two granddaughters into his family: Kyla Bussey and Kierra Farley. He also leaves to cherish the memory of his wonderful spirit, an uncle Jerome W. Lindsey, Sr., and a host of great aunts, cousins and a host of steadfast friends.
