Helen Hamilton graduated from Danville High School and Central Normal College and began teaching in 1927 at Lizton and later in Decatur County. On Aug. 12, 1931, she married Floyd Davis of Lizton, son of William H. and Etta (Freeland) Davis.

Helen (Hamilton) Davis, 87, died March 24, 1995 at Heartland Health Care in Avon. She was born March 30, 1907, in Lizton to Bruce and Ethel (Poland) Hamilton. She married Floyd "Joe" Davis Aug. 12, 1931 in Lizton. He died in March 1994. She taught school at Lizton, Burney and Greensburg schools. She was a member of the Greensburg United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include two nieces, Jane Maschmeyer of Indianapolis and Joan Ott of North Salem. Funeral services were conducted March 26 at the Porter Funeral Home in North Salem with the Rev. Carol Fritz officiating. Burial was in the Lizton K. of P. Cemetery.
