Hobert Griff Maston, 64, of Rt. 5, Marietta, died Sept. 14 at Marietta Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born Jan. 4, 1935, at Schultz to Griff and Rose Johnson Maston. He had lived in Marietta for 46 years. He had been a plumber and pipefitter retiring from Carver Plumbing and Heating following 43 years of employment.

He was a member of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 168. He enjoyed camping hunting and bowling.

He is survived by his wife, Jill K. Graham Maston, whom he married Sept. 3, and daughters Kelly Carpenter and her husband, Brent, of Marietta, and Kimberly Mayer and her husband, Charleston of Marietta; 22 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four brothers, Harold Maston and his wife, Edna, of St. Marys; Herschel Maston and his wife, May, of. Belmont; Howard Maston of Belmont, and Herman Maston and his wife, Shirley, of Leesburg, Fla.; and five sisters, Gaynelle Steele of Waverly, Glenda Mahaney of Parkersburg, Georgia McCurry of Waverly, Glenore Cronin and her husband, Bob, of Waverly and Garnet Henthorne of Marietta.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Inez J. Williams Maston, in 1980. Surviving children from that marriage are two sons, Gregory Maston and his wife, Barbara, of Boardman, O., and Jeffrey Maston and his wife, Jennifer, of Marietta; four daughters, Sheila Murphy and her husband, Steve, of Marietta, Yvonne Hill and her husband, Larry, of Marietta, Angela Dowler mid her husband, Tom, of Marietta, and Denise Crosby and her husband, Jay of Marietta. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Hansel Maston.

Services were Friday at Cawley and Peoples Funeral Home in Marietta with the Rev. Faith Perrizo officiating.

Entombment was in East Lawn Mausoleum at Marietta
