Lloyd Edwin Flippin, age 77, of Climax Springs, Missouri, passed away Monday afternoon, September 13, 2004, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. He was born on the family farm near Climax Springs, Missouri, on November 14, 1926, the son of Elgie and Ella Mae Green Flippin.

Mr. Flippin grew up in Camden County and served in the United States Navy as a veteran of World War II.

On February 7, 1952, he was united in marriage to his surviving wife at Harrison, Arkansas. They made their home at Climax Springs until the early 1960's. They moved to Kansas City where he was employed as an assembly worker at the General Motors Fairfax assembly plant for thirty-five and a half years. He retired in January of 1991 and returned to the farm near Climax Springs. He was a farmer at heart. While he lived and worked in Kansas City, almost every weekend, every holiday and vacation was spent on the farm where he kept cattle and other livestock and put up hay for many years.

He was a member of United Auto Workers Local #31 in Kansas City, Kansas.

Mr. Flippin is survived by his wife of the home, two daughters, one of Kingston, Missouri, & one of Warsaw, Missouri; one son also of Warsaw; three grandchildren; two sisters, one of Climax Springs, & one of Carthage, Missouri, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Grave Side Funeral Services and Interment will be at 11:00 A.M. Friday, September 17th at the Climax Springs Cemetery near Climax Springs, Missouri. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Parkinson's Disease Association in care of the funeral home.
